Physical Environment Landscape Camden Head is part of the Camden Head formation which consist of Triassic conglomerate, sandstone and shale (Hastings Geological Series Sheet SH 56 – 14). To the south is Dunbogan Beach and to the north is Perpendicular Point, Pilot Beach, the entrance to Camden Haven Inlet and then Grants Beach. Bathymetry &
Substrate Water depths close to
the outfall are generally of the order of 2 m shelving slowly to about 5m off
the end of Perpendicular Point. The outfall itself is located in a jumble of
boulders and discharges at the mean low water mark. Little oceanographic data is available for areas close to Camden Head outfall. |
